SetupTeam began in 2015, shortly after founder Alex arrived in Canada. Starting over in a new country meant rebuilding both career and reputation from the ground up.
With a background in mechanical engineering and years spent working around technology, audio systems, and home theatre equipment—including sales and installation training connected to brands such as Yamaha and Harman Kardon—moving into the home technology industry felt like a natural continuation rather than a new direction.
From the beginning, SetupTeam was built as a Canadian family-owned business, shaped by personal accountability and long-term relationships rather than volume-driven service.
As a local business serving the local community, the company grew through referrals, trust, and consistent workmanship across Toronto and the GTA.
What started as helping clients select and install home theatre equipment quickly evolved into something broader. Many people were not simply looking for someone to mount a TV or connect devices.

In the early years, Alex focused on learning the Canadian market while building relationships one project at a time. Establishing trust was the biggest challenge.

Instead of pushing products or maximizing invoices, SetupTeam developed around a simple principle: recommend only what genuinely fits the client’s needs.

This approach naturally expanded into services such as home theatre installation, TV wall mounting and installation, and smart home installation designed around real-world usability.
