What does a Sonos Amp Multi cost at SetupTeam?
Amp Multi price in Canada: $3,999.99 for the amplifier on its own, or $4,500 with our technician connecting it to the speaker wire already in your walls and tuning each output. The Amp Multi Rack Mount adds $129.99 when you buy the amplifier from us. Prices are in Canadian dollars, plus HST.

What $4,500 does not cover: mounting or cutting in speakers, and running new speaker wire or network cable. The installed price assumes your speakers are already in and each pair has its own cable back to where the amplifier goes. If they are not, we quote that work separately as part of a full Sonos installation. If a run fails testing, we show you which one and quote the repair before touching it.
What is the Sonos Amp Multi?
An eight-channel streaming amplifier that runs up to four rooms of passive speakers from one box. Each channel puts out 125 watts at 8 ohms with all eight driven at once, and one unit can power up to 24 Sonos Architectural speakers.
Kitchen, living room, primary suite and outdoor audio on the patio can each play their own music, all controlled from the Sonos app. It went on sale on August 25, 2026, and Sonos sells it only through its installation partners.

Why does Sonos sell the Amp Multi only through installers?
Because someone has to set it up properly. This amplifier needs a person to decide which speakers share a channel, check the load on each one, assign eight outputs to zones and tune every output for the room it feeds. A regular Sonos Amp needs none of that. That is why Sonos sells it through installation partners.
Zone planning
Eight outputs can be four stereo rooms, eight mono spaces, or a mix. We map each speaker run to a zone before anything gets connected, so the kitchen never plays in the bedroom.
Speaker load
Three speakers on one channel is fine with Sonos Architectural. Older or third-party speakers can drop the load below what the amplifier accepts. We measure first, then wire.
ProTune on every output
A ceiling speaker in a tiled bathroom and one in a carpeted den need different settings. We set EQ, gain, delay and the high-pass filter per output instead of leaving them flat.
Wired and ventilated
We connect it by Ethernet, never Wi-Fi alone, and place it where the fanless chassis can shed heat. A closed cabinet with a router and a cable box is the wrong spot. No port nearby? Network installation adds one.
When does one Amp Multi beat four Sonos Amps?
When three or four rooms of ceiling speakers are wired back to one spot. One box, one network port and per-output tuning cost less than four Amps. Four regular Sonos Amps come to $4,196 at $1,049 each, take four network ports and stack on a shelf. The Amp Multi costs $3,999.99 and adds tuning the regular Amp does not offer.

Do you need the Amp Multi Rack Mount?
Only if the amplifier lives in a 19-inch equipment rack. It is 1.5U tall on its own, and Sonos makes a matching 2U mount that holds it with eight screws. Buy it with the amplifier and it costs $129.99.
On a shelf, in a utility room or on top of a network cabinet, you can skip it. If you have a rack but no room in it, we can tell you on the phone whether it will fit.
What happens during an Amp Multi installation?
One technician, one visit. Older wiring works as long as each run tests clean and goes back to one spot.
Test the existing runs
We identify and label each speaker cable at the equipment location, check it for shorts and confirm each pair is home-run.
Place or rack the amplifier
On a shelf with room to breathe, or in your rack on the Amp Multi Rack Mount.
Land the speaker wire
Each run goes to its output. We check the load on every channel before powering up.
Connect and add to Sonos
Ethernet to your network, then the amplifier joins your existing Sonos system or starts a new one.
Build and tune the zones
Up to four named rooms, with ProTune EQ, gain, delay and high-pass set on each output.
Walk you through it
