Why TV mounting quotes are never one number
Ask three installers what it costs to mount a 65-inch TV and you will get three different answers, because the TV is the least interesting part of the job. What actually moves the price is the wall behind it, how high it goes, and what you want done with the wires. A 65-inch screen on a wood-stud wall in a Scarborough bungalow and the same screen on a marble fireplace surround in a Yorkville condo are not the same job, and pretending otherwise is how people end up with a surprise on the invoice.
This estimator asks the questions our technicians would ask on the phone, then prices the job from the same rate card they work from. You will see each line separately — labour, mount hardware, wire concealment, removal of the old TV — so you can tell exactly what you are paying for and drop anything you do not need. If something about your project needs a person to look at it first, it says so plainly instead of guessing.
The wall does most of the work
Drywall, concrete and brick are priced together. Tile, marble, stone and porcelain cost more because they need diamond bits, careful layout and a much slower pace — a cracked slab is not repairable.
Mount type changes the labour
A fixed bracket lands flat on the wall. A full-motion arm carries the whole weight of the TV out on a cantilever, which means more anchors, more precision, and more time.
Wires are their own job
Running cable inside a drywall wall is straightforward. Doing it through masonry, through tile, or above a fireplace is not, so those get priced after we see a photo rather than guessed at here.
More TVs, better rate
Once we are on site with the tools out, the second and third TV cost us less. Every TV after the most expensive one gets ten percent off its mounting labour automatically.
What this is and is not. Every figure comes from our live rate card, but it is a provisional estimate, not a binding quote. It is valid for 14 days. Dispatch confirms the final price, the scope and the appointment time with you by phone before anything is booked. Prices are shown before HST, and nothing is charged through this page.
