Terms of Sale
These terms apply to every product you buy from SetupTeam, whether online, by invoice or in person.
What do I need to know?
Returns: mounts, cables and other accessories are final sale. Unopened electronics can come back within 14 days to our Richmond Hill location, and special orders carry a 30% restocking fee.
A faulty or wrong product is always ours to sort out, sealed box or not, with no restocking fee.
Prices are in Canadian dollars, before 13% HST, with no card fee on products ordered through our website. A sale price applies only during the promotion’s dates.
We deliver within Ontario only. Delivery is free in the GTA, and pickup is available.
Installation is a separate service, covered by our Terms of Service.
Your rights under Ontario law always come first.
What do these terms cover?
These terms cover every product you buy from Setup Team Inc., operating as SetupTeam. That includes speakers such as Sonos, networking equipment, TV mounts, cables and accessories, however you order them: online, by an invoice we send, or in person. They form part of the agreement when you order.
Installation, mounting, wiring and setup labour are a service, not a product. That work is covered by our Terms of Service, Warranty Policy and Cancellation & Refund Policy. If a signed agreement or an accepted quote for your project says something different, that document applies to that project.
Can I return a product I bought?
It depends on the type of product. These rules cover changing your mind. They never apply to a faulty product or a wrong item, which the next section covers. Every product is in one of three groups:
- Final sale, no change-of-mind returns: wall mounts and brackets, cables (HDMI, optical, speaker wire), cords, adapters, mounting hardware, and other accessories and installation materials.
- Electronics, returnable unopened with no fee: powered devices from our regular stock, such as Sonos speakers, soundbars, subwoofers, amplifiers and networking equipment.
- Special orders, returnable unopened with a 30% restocking fee: any product we order specifically for you, rather than one we keep in regular stock. We tell you an item is a special order, and about the fee, before we order it.
Accessories stay final sale even when we order them specially. If you are not sure which group a product is in, ask us before you buy. If we did not tell you before you bought it, we treat it as electronics.
Electronics and special orders can come back only on these conditions:
- Contact us within 14 days of the day you received or picked up the product.
- The box must be factory-sealed, with no opened seals, tape or packaging.
- You bring it to our Richmond Hill location in person. We do not publish the street address. We give it to you, with a drop-off time, when we arrange the return.
- We check the seal, then refund you to your original payment method within 10 business days. Electronics from our regular stock: the full price you paid plus its HST, with no restocking fee. Special orders: we deduct 30% of the price you paid and refund the rest, plus the HST on it.
We cannot take back a product that has been opened, set up, installed, registered or used. If a disability makes it hard for you to bring a product to us, tell us and we will arrange another way.
What if my product is faulty, damaged or not what I ordered?
We fix it, even if the box is open. If a product arrives damaged, is the wrong item or does not match its description, tell us as soon as you can. Photos help. We will replace it, correct the order or refund you in full, whatever group the product is in. No restocking fee ever applies.
If a fault appears later, the manufacturer’s warranty is usually the quickest fix. We help you make the claim, and your SetupTeam receipt is your proof of purchase. See our Warranty Policy. Neither the return rules nor the manufacturer’s warranty takes away your rights against us under Ontario law for a product that is faulty, unfit for its purpose or not as described.
How does ordering work?
Your order becomes an agreement once we confirm it and you pay, either at checkout or by an invoice we send you. Before you commit, we show you:
- the products, colours and quantities;
- each price, the HST and the total, in Canadian dollars;
- your choice of delivery, pickup or an installation visit;
- these terms.
You can check and correct your order before you pay. After you pay, we email you a copy of your order. Please keep it. We limit each order to 4 of any one product, and we may decline an order, for example if it looks fraudulent or is for resale. If we decline an order, we refund anything you paid, in full.
How do I pay?
You pay the price shown plus 13% HST, and nothing else. You can pay at checkout, or by card or e-transfer through the invoice we send for your order.
- No card processing fee applies to products you order through our website, whether you pay at checkout or by the invoice we send for that order.
- Delivery within the GTA is free.
- The total we confirm is the total you pay. We never charge you more without your agreement.
What happens if a price is wrong or a sale ends?
A sale price applies only to orders paid for during that promotion’s dates, which are shown in Toronto time. Before a promotion starts and after it ends, the regular price applies. We price every order at the moment you place it.
If a product was listed at an obvious error, we contact you before delivering it. You can then pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund. We will not charge you the higher price without your agreement.
What if a product is out of stock after I order?
We tell you quickly and let you choose. You can wait for the new date we give you, pick a similar product, or cancel for a full refund. A product marked “Ask about availability” cannot be ordered until we confirm we have it.
How do delivery and pickup work?
You choose delivery, pickup, or delivery with an installation visit. We deliver within Ontario only, and delivery is free anywhere in the GTA. If you are outside the GTA, contact us before you order.
- Delivery date: when we confirm your order, we give you an estimated delivery date.
- Late delivery: if we do not deliver within 30 days after that date, you can cancel at any time before delivery and receive a full refund. If we gave no date, the 30 days count from the date of the agreement.
- Pickup: we contact you with a Richmond Hill pickup location and a time that suits you.
- Receiving a delivery: someone aged 18 or older should be there to receive it.
Can I cancel my order before it arrives?
Yes, until the order has been delivered or picked up. Contact us and we refund what you paid for the products, in full. The one exception is a special order we have already ordered from the supplier: if you cancel it, we deduct the 30% restocking fee, unless the law gives you a right to cancel, for example for late delivery. We always tell you before we place a special order.
When do the products become mine?
The products become yours once you have paid in full. You take on the risk of loss or damage when you receive them, at delivery, pickup or installation, whichever comes first. Until then, the risk stays with us.
What do free setup and the installation discount include?
Shop offers are listed on the product page and apply only when their conditions are met. For Sonos, free setup applies when:
- the products in one order total $1,500 or more before HST, at the prices you actually paid; and
- you choose delivery or an installation visit. Pickup does not qualify.
Free setup does not include mounting or wiring. For products bought from us, installation labour is 25% off, quoted and billed separately under our Terms of Service. See Sonos installation for what a visit covers.
Who handles the product warranty?
The manufacturer does, on its own terms. For example, Sonos products we sell come with Sonos’s one-year limited warranty, which runs from the date of sale on your SetupTeam receipt. We are an authorized Sonos dealer, so that receipt is your proof of purchase for warranty service, and we help you register the product and make a claim. For other brands, the manufacturer’s own warranty period applies. Our own labour warranty covers only our installation work. The manufacturer’s warranty is in addition to your rights under Ontario law and does not replace them. See our Warranty Policy.
What rights do I have by law?
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under Ontario’s consumer protection law, or any other law that cannot be waived. Those rights include:
- a product must be of reasonably acceptable quality and match its description;
- you can cancel if we do not give you the information and order copy the law requires;
- if you cancel as the law allows, we refund you within 15 days. If we do not, and you paid by credit card, you can ask your card issuer to reverse the charge;
- if you buy a product from us in your home rather than online or by invoice, you may have a 10-day right to cancel under Ontario law;
- no restocking fee applies when you cancel under any of these rights.
If a term here conflicts with one of those rights, the right wins and the rest of these terms still apply.
How far does our responsibility go?
Our responsibility for a product is limited to the price you paid for it. We are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost data or loss of use. This limit does not apply to anything the law does not let us limit, including your statutory rights, death or injury caused by our negligence, or fraud. The same limits appear in our Terms of Service.
How is my information used, and which law applies?
We use your order details only to fulfil, support and account for your purchase. See our Privacy Policy. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and of Canada. If there is a problem, call (647) 464-0606 or email [email protected] first: most issues are settled in one conversation. Our other policies are on the legal page.
What do people ask before buying?
Effective September 24, 2026. We may update these terms; the version on this page when you order is the one that applies to that order.
Not sure how these terms apply to your order?
Ask before you buy. Call (647) 464-0606 or email [email protected], and we will answer in plain language.
