TV wall mounting, Sonos audio, Control4 smart home, and in-wall cables across Oakville. Plaster walls, stone surrounds, and drywall — precision technique and the right hardware for every surface. Same-day available.
The older homes near Lakeshore Road and in the historic streets south of the QEW have plaster-on-lath walls. Some have horsehair plaster from the 1930s and 40s, which behaves differently from the gypsum plaster of the 50s and 60s. Both crack when drilled carelessly. The fractures can run through large areas of wall face, well beyond the hole. Matching the original plaster colour and texture is very difficult. The better answer is to not crack it.
We probe every plaster wall before drilling. Lath strips are located and marked. Pilot holes are started at reduced speed before the anchor bit goes in. The newer homes in Joshua Creek, River Oaks, and North Palermo present a different challenge: stone and porcelain tile surfaces that need diamond bits and controlled technique. We've worked extensively in both ends of the city and understand what each area requires.
Clients in this area often also want whole-home Sonos audio, Control4 smart home integration, home cinema, and network infrastructure — we handle all of it.

Standard drywall mount with your own bracket from $169.99. All-in package — tilt mount, wire concealment up to 6ft — is $299.99. Plaster walls and stone/tile surfaces are quoted based on scope. Frame TV installation from $199.99. Plaster probes, diamond bits, masonry anchors, and lath-safe drill settings are on every truck for this area.
Pre-war plaster near the lake, mid-century wood stud in Bronte, or stone and tile in Joshua Creek — each requires different tools. Confirmed before booking.
Plaster walls are probed for lath before drilling. Stone surfaces are assessed for tile type and grout line spacing. No drilling before we know the surface.
Plaster: lath-located anchors at reduced speed. Stone and tile: diamond bits through grout lines. Wood stud: standard technique. Each surface gets the right method.
TV level, audio calibrated, cables concealed. For premium surfaces, we take additional care with cleanup and confirm the finish matches the room.
Right tool for the surface, every time. Lifetime labour warranty on every mount we install.
The city covers a wide range of housing eras and construction types. The installation approach is materially different depending on where the property is.
Homes built before the 1960s near Lakeshore Road and Trafalgar have plaster-on-lath — some with original horsehair plaster. These walls require lath location before drilling, reduced drill speed, and careful anchor selection. In-wall cable runs are possible but need a thoughtful approach to the narrower cavities.
Newer custom builds in Joshua Creek, River Oaks, and North Palermo frequently feature stone surrounds, large-format porcelain tile, and custom millwork. These need diamond-tipped bits, controlled drilling technique, and anchor placement through grout lines where possible. Cracking the surface is not recoverable on premium tile runs.
Mid-century homes in Bronte, Kerr Village, and the west side are typically wood stud construction from the 1960s and 70s — straightforward for mounting. The main consideration is wall cavity width, which can be narrower than modern construction and limits cable bundle size for in-wall runs.
This area has a high proportion of clients who want the TV installation to anchor a broader system — whole-home Sonos, Control4 automation covering lighting and climate, and structured wiring that supports it all. As a certified Control4 dealer and Sonos Gold Dealer, we design and install these as complete projects.
Heavy-format TV and tile-clad wall required anchor depth verification before any drilling. Cable conduit pre-planned end-to-end so the finished install carried no visible runs in the entertainment room itself.
Outcome98-inch screen mounted flush with no visible cables. Audio routed through dedicated conduit to a rack in the utility room.

We locate the lath with a probe before drilling — plaster over lath fails when anchors are placed between the strips. Lath positions are marked. Drilling starts with a pilot at reduced speed before the anchor bit engages. Anchors are chosen for the actual wall depth, not assumed. We've done this in Old Oakville homes regularly without a cracked surface.
Yes. Natural stone needs diamond-tipped bits, reduced rotation speed, and mounting through grout lines where possible. We confirm heat clearance from the firebox before choosing the mount height, then anchor into the stone with sleeve anchors rated for the TV's dead load. Stone drilling takes longer than drywall — we don't rush it.
Yes. As a Sonos Gold Dealer we carry Arc, Beam, Sub, and Era 300 in-ceiling speakers. We wall-mount the Arc, connect via HDMI eARC, and fish in-ceiling speaker wiring through the ceiling cavity for rear and overhead channels. For homes with multiple zones, a system design consultation is available before booking.
Yes. As a certified Control4 dealer and Sonos Gold Dealer we design and install systems where one touchscreen or app controls TV, audio, lighting, climate, and security. For custom homes here this often means multi-zone Sonos, Control4 programming in multiple rooms, and a structured wiring rack. Quoted as a full project with a clear scope.
Wood stud is the most straightforward mounting scenario. Standard 3-inch lag screws into studs, clean in-wall cable runs. The watch-out in mid-century Bronte homes is wall cavity width — older construction sometimes has narrower cavities that limit cable bundle size. We check before committing to an in-wall route.
In-wall cable runs are possible in plaster-on-lath walls, but the cavity is narrower than modern drywall. A single HDMI cable and in-wall power feed typically fits. We confirm dimensions before committing. Where in-wall isn't practical, a slim surface channel painted to match the wall is the alternative.
HDMI eARC handles TV-volume-controls-soundbar automatically once connected. We configure the connection, test it, and verify it works from your TV remote. For Sonos soundbars, the Sonos app is also configured for independent control. For a complete smart home volume-and-input solution, we can configure Control4 to manage the full system.
Standard drywall mount with your own bracket from $169.99. All-in package — tilt mount, wire concealment up to 65 inches — is $299.99. Plaster walls, stone and tile surfaces are quoted based on scope. Frame TV installation from $199.99. Control4 and Sonos installations are quoted as full projects.
Same-day and next-day are both frequently available across the city. Plaster and stone installs may benefit from a brief photo before booking to confirm scope. Call or message with the property details and we'll confirm a time the same day.
