How do you add Ethernet drops to a finished King City home without opening every wall?
We fish it through the pathways the house already has. Closet stacks, the chase beside a plumbing riser, an unfinished basement ceiling, attic space above the top floor, and the void behind a baseboard will all carry Cat6A without cutting into the middle of a finished wall. Access holes land where trim or a patch hides them, and you see every one marked before a blade touches it.
On a large lot the run length is the constraint that shows up first. From a rack in the middle of a house this size, a drop at the far bedroom, the loft over the garage, or a camera at the gate can pass sixty or seventy metres once the cable has gone down a riser, along a joist bay and back up again. We measure the route the cable takes, not the distance across the floor plan, before choosing what to pull.

Data Drops in Finished Rooms
Cat6A pulled to a room that has never had a wall plate. We open one small access point, fish the cable to the nearest usable cavity, and terminate the run on a flush keystone plate. The repair afterwards is drywall and paint.
Wi-Fi That Reaches the Far End
Access points mounted where the coverage gap sits, each on its own wired run back to the rack. A ceiling drop at the far end of a long house does more than a mesh node repeating from the middle. Detached buildings get a cable rather than a wireless hop.

Because every extra metre costs signal and power. Copper stops at ninety metres, PoE voltage sags on a long run out to a gate camera, and a far-corner access point sharing a wireless hop with the middle of the house loses most of its throughput. Sizing the rack on a property like this starts with measuring the longest run, then working back to the switch, the power budget, and where each access point has to sit.

Every fished run lands on a patch panel feeding a managed PoE switch. We add up the wattage the cameras, access points, and doorbell draw, then size the budget above it so the next camera does not starve the ones already on the switch.

Can you get a wired connection out to a coach house that was never wired?
Yes, and the route matters more than the distance. Cable leaves the main house at a rim joist or an existing service penetration, picks up conduit at grade, and lands inside the second building on a small wall-mounted switch. We fish each cable from the room back to the rack in one continuous run with a service loop at both ends, then patch the access holes and leave them ready for paint. Conduit to a detached building goes in on the same visit so the yard is only opened once.
