Why does one room in the house never get a usable signal?
Distance, and the walls in between. Wi-Fi loses strength through every floor and every insulated partition, and a mesh node with no cable behind it spends half its radio talking back to the router. A wired drop to that room removes both problems at once and leaves the rest of the house alone.

The Home Office Drop Is the One People Ask for First
Offices in finished basements and spare second-floor bedrooms around Stonehaven, Glenway Estates, and Summerhill Estates were wired for a household that used one computer in the evening. A dedicated cable to the desk fixes the call-quality problem that a router upgrade does not touch.

What gets installed at the panel end to make the drops work?
A patch panel for the runs to land on, a managed PoE switch to power access points and cameras, and a handoff to your router or firewall. We configure the switch, the VLANs, and the wireless before leaving, so the new drops carry traffic the same day they go in.

Every home run terminates on a panel, then patches into a switch sized for the cameras and access points it has to power. Spare ports stay free for whatever gets added next.

Access points mounted, adopted, and tuned: SSIDs, channels, and roaming set so a video call survives the walk from the office to the kitchen.
Recorder and Camera Integration
The recorder mounts in the rack and joins the camera VLAN. Recording settings and remote access are set up and checked with you before we pack up.

How does cable cross a finished Newmarket house without opening walls?
Through the attic and the utility chase. Two-storey houses in Stonehaven, Glenway Estates, Summerhill Estates, and Armitage usually have a walkable attic over the upper floor and a chase or cold-air return dropping down beside the mechanical room. Those two paths carry most of the runs in a retrofit.
Upper-floor drops come down from the attic inside a partition. Main-floor and basement drops come up from below, through joist bays open above a drop ceiling or an unfinished section. Near Fairy Lake and in the older parts of town we check for blocking and older insulation before promising a route, because that is where a fifteen-minute pull turns into an hour.
Where the Attic Route Stops
Attic access ends at a vaulted ceiling, a bathroom fan run, or an addition built under its own roof. When that happens we switch to a chase or a basement route rather than cutting through the ceiling, and we name the affected rooms before quoting.
Electricians, Builders and Basement Finishers
An electrician runs line voltage and can pull a cable while working in an open wall; a low-voltage installer terminates it, tests it, and configures what it feeds. On a basement or addition we come in after framing on that section and before the drywall, and we mark every drop on your plan so nothing gets buried.
What does a retrofit cabling visit look like?
A walkthrough comes first, so we know where the attic hatch is, where the chase runs, and where the panel will live. After that we pull the cable, terminate it, and test it. Most of the day goes into routing decisions rather than cutting.
Access Check and Drop List
We open the attic hatch, look at the basement ceiling, find where the internet enters, and list every drop with the route it will take. You approve the list and any access holes before work starts.
Pulling Through Attic and Chase
Glow rods down from the attic, fish tape up from below, cable dropped inside the partition to each outlet position. Service loops left at both ends for future changes.
Terminate, Configure, Verify
Keystones at the rooms, patch panel at the rack, every port labelled. Switch, access points, and recorder configured, then each run tested and the results written down for you.
